Freeze/lockup issue (infrequent)
|
PS5 Pro: I have now twice encountered an issue where the game sort of "freezes" - in both cases there was a screen-wide effect which just stopped mid animation (red screen in the very first Ritual in Act 1, and a big explosion in the Balbala fight in Act 2), menu interactions worked fine so I could restart at checkpoint. Weirdly enough, moving a stick caused the whole screen to move very slowly in that direction for a bit, leading me to believe that underneath the screen-wide frozen effect, the game was just slowed down because of lag or something else, but I don't think that was actually the case, just a weird behavior.

This is happening for me as well. PS5 regular. It keeps freezing in towns. Mostly when interacting with benefits vendors but most recently right after teleporting to act 2 town.

This has happened to me twice. Once it Freythorn and once in town. Screen goes Vaal red so I thought it was some mechanic. Apparently the freeze is only for the players as I came back in ssf standard when playing in ssfhc. Actually it happened to me again in the first act 2 zone right when I killed the boss. Fortunately then I knew and immediately logged out.

Just happened another time as I was approaching the Wildwood in the Ogham interlude, after getting access there. There was a full screen effect again so I would definitely think there's a culprit in the full screen effect department.
Edit: oh wait sorry, it's called Blackwood here isn't it, silly me Last edited by PetrCobra#9710 on Dec 15, 2025, 7:25:07 AM

Well, now it's even more interesting. It happened while I was stashing something from the inventory. I thought I've encountered a different bug, since moving an item to a quad tab made it appear in that tab twice as large, as if it was in a normal tab. After some fiddling with tab switching and cursor moving it sorted itself out. When I quit the stash screen though, the old red screen and frozen gameplay invited me back. Maybe it's not related to any graphical effects after all.
