Cannot start Trial of Ancestors

i beat Krutog but didnt speak to Matiki and now hes in kingsmarch but wont come on the boat to start quest so i can go to Eye of Hinekora

Yeah i did the boss on Shrike island and he appeared there after beating that boss which started the quest
