Well, i've been playing PoE1 for 3 leagues as Aurabot and been a viewer rather than participator to all of the meta carry stuff. This league i focused completing all of the challenges and i am on half way point. I've collected within myself few thought and i'd like to share them now.
It's obvious that Acts are boring to run for each of your new characters. Maybe an idea that you should complete Acts only one time on any character in active league and then you are able to Map with new chars from lvl 1. It is a rotten topic and i wont continue it. Gameplay loop feels mostly the same from most of the league mechanics that partly enhances maps. Ambush, Bestiary, Delirium, etc. are such examples. I understand that Mapping is the core mechanic, but it feels the same for multiple years, specially with new Breach. Not a complaint, just a thought. Popular/Meta/IMBA builds are mostly the same through out the leagues. KB/RF/Brand. The way i see it that, yes, it's obvious why they are popular, but it's a bad design when you got 100+ skills in the game, so many ways to make literally any build imaginable, and so few are on ears. Maybe a huge rebalance of stuff or people is the problem? I honestly don't know. Maybe it's my twisted mind, but it feel like the game needs something new & strong & funny/cool. Like putting uniques in gems/jewels or adding new uniques/foulborns that completely flips builds. Foulborn Benevolence that uses flasks on enemies around in negative ratio? Foulborn Hand of Phrecia that sucks enemies for ehp? A way to disable CD for linked spell from intuitive link? Lots of ways and ideas, but most new stuff focused on spell/attack builds that already thriving. Links are dead. They are conceptually interesting but feel like realisation just has been abandoned. I love them and it hurts me a lot. Cursebots are mutilated. At the first place you don't really need a whole cursebot when you can just press one button and apply needed curse by yourself. Also they been nerfed/killed in latest leagues. Support builds are needed but playing on them is a waste of else's time. Mercenaries were a way for such builds to live, since you don't need to force another living person to play those, but they were deleted. If by rebalance you mean massive buffs to the garbage heap then maybe. And if GGG just nerfs the top again then no. POE2 should be the ruthless vision experience and POE1 should be the zoom power fantasy sandbox to capture both audiences.
I petition to return all the fun stuff that was removed or nerfed over the years back into POE1. |
