EXPLAIN when dying will lock you out of the temple
|
Just ran my temple with an architect for the first time. Go into a normal room get killed by rare, respawn in temple, not bricked. So I make the association taht its like a map or instance, then go to the architect expecting it to be similar to other boss fights, respawn but its back at full health. Nope FU say goodbye to your half finished temple.
Explain these things ... simple. Or just have the boss not respawn after a death. Losing a temple is just shitty design when everyone will probably die on their first architect. PS: I still have no clue what I'm supposed to do with the blood shit that follows you around in that fight. Last bumped on Dec 17, 2025, 4:00:22 AM

I had this exact experience. Felt pretty bad when suddenly I got locked out of the temple.
Worse, the second time I fought this boss I died and lost both my remaining map portals (it was the first death on a map). Map got wiped, lost the Corruption Nexus. That must be a bug. And yeah, both times I've fought the architect I've dodged the bullet hell and then gotten one shot from something I cannot see. I have no idea what happened, I don't know what to do differently, and it will probably happen again next time. I love PoE2, but this is the worst experience I've had in it. More visual and mechanical clarity are really, really needed here. Last edited by Sirbeaverous#2893 on Dec 16, 2025, 12:00:43 AM

Well, you were able to figure out how to play jigsaw puzzle simulator, most of us can't even manage that so you're still ahead of the rest in that area (:

Same experience. Architect spawned, instantly oneshot me, end of temple.

I ran into the same issue too, but my situation was a bit different. I finished the entire temple without dying even once, yet when I went back to the entrance, the portal leading back to the map was already gone. I had no choice but to return to my hideout via the waypoint, only to find that there were no portals left on my map device at all. And this was the Corruption Nexus I was running—now I have to go through the hassle of finding the corrupted area all over again.
It feels like the game just puts your map on hold the moment you enter the temple, then automatically deletes it from the server after a while. The experience was absolutely terrible. |

" i had this and every other random bug happen to me in this temple. its like the mechanic is telling me, in no uncertain terms, to stop engaging with it. |

One life fights are just bad. GGG should have these only on highest tier pinnacle boss fights.
I have done several temple runs during the campaign and it was fun. Did my first architect right after I finished the campaign, died immediately and lost the temple. That just feels bad and a waste of my time. I won't engage with the league mechanics any time soon again. |

Okay I found him again, fought him, watched him. He does this little move where he summons three little disks in front of him then the middle one shoots out. I think this is the deadly one-shot attack.
It doesn't flash red or make a sound, and the animation gets covered up by most player spell effects. I found the best way to deal with him as melee is play it patient, strafe until he uses this, jump in, jump out. If I'm right that this is the attack, it does way too much damage for how hard it is to see. |

The one time I fought him and died was from the ice attack. That one hits pretty hard.

" facts. I quit doing them in the campaign. |
