Steam tells me to download patch after I just downloaded it?

Not sure if anyone else has seen this. It just finished patching and I launched the game.. But as soon as I try to log in it says my client is behind and needs to patch, and I have to start the process over again.

I am in a validating cycle. I download the patch, I validate it, I open the game, I click "Login", it tells me I need to download the patch, it then automatically "Validates" that games, it automatically open, and repeats. Losing my mind.
