Awakened Added Fire Damage Support not granting +1 level when its level is modified

I have a level 5 Awakened Added Fire linked with level 20 Penance Brand of Dissipation in an Archdemon Crown. This brings the PBoD to 22 and the Awakened Added Fire to 3. I also have +1 all spell skills on my wand, bringing PBoD to 23.

I also have a Venarius's Astrolabe with +3 to all Elemental Skills and +2 to all Elemental supports when the stars are aligned. I have the requisite influences and my PBoD shows level 26, but it should be 27 because the Astrolabe is bumping the Awakened Added Fire back to level 5, which grants +1 to supported skills.

I've tested it in other links outside of the Crown and it works there showing 25/7. It seems that there's some sort of interaction with the Archdemon Crown reducing the level and then the Astrolabe increasing the level of Awakened Added Fire.

Sadly, that is a lot of cope because it has been reported over 100 times by now for both negative level back to 5 not granting +1, as well as the level 10 still only giving +1 (both most commonly reached with Venarius, but there's other ways). And it affects all awakened gems that add +1, not just added fire.

I believe they responded on at least one of the bug reports in the past, but considering Venarius amulet has been around for since 3.26 last June (when it became more commonly achieved), and still not fixed, it sounds like a functional change has to be made to the way the support gems work.. or they just haven't gotten to it in the back log of bug reports.

My guess is the formula is out of order and is doing it like this:
Base level
Subtraction
Total <- This is what is actually granted for levels
Addition
Total <- This is what is displayed

So you see level 5, is says +1, but in the back end it thinks it is level 3 so grants +0. But it's only a guess and we'll see if GGG ever gets around to fixing it. Because it is affecting a lot of people, whether or not they even realize it.

Yeah, I assumed it was all +gem level supports that this was affecting, but I only had experience with AAF
