Elemental reduction against hits not working in trial of Sekhema?
|
I'm playing druid, presently level 84.
Here's the scenario: I wear veil of night which brings my base HP up to 2474, and I have 1517 energy shield but I have NO elemental resistances. Thus I have been stacking armour with '%of armour applies to elemental damage' I have 4621 base armour looking at character stats, I have 64% elemental reduction against hits. While in combat, I get up to 10 stacks of scavenged plating very quickly, which brings my armour to 6470 (65% reduction in endgame areas) and my elemental reduction to 71%. I also slotted a relic that gave +25% defenses. I didn't note the exact amount of mitigation in the first floor of a level 80 trial but it should be higher than noted above. Well, I went to the 2nd room of the first floor and was killing the rares in a a cauldron area. Easy kills honestly... I was not injured in any way, until a single non-elite bat demon thing got off a fireball breath attack at close range. It instantly one shotted me. I mean 3000+ life and 1700+ ES instantly purged. I even have a chest piece that makes 10% of damage taken come from mana before life, and my mana was down by more than 500. My honour bar barely moved due to 74% honour resistance, but I simply fell over dead from the damage. Either that fire orb breath attack is not coded as a hit (as non-hit damage like burning ground isn't affected by armour) or the trial is simply not calculating the reduction properly. --------------- This might explain why a single hit from the twin golems on the second floor also one shots me whether its cold or fire. Fire typically triggers my ignite charm if I survive the hit but the cold hit absolutely demolishes me. --------------- Another hypothesis: Although my character sheet shows () for all resists, perhaps on the back end, monsters in sekhemas are hitting me as if I have the resistances on my gear, which equates to -40%, meaning a 40% increase in damage taken if the helm's 'no resistances' were ignored. You know how armour reduces damage, right?

Another bit of info to add...
I ran the trial a few more times today on the druid. I was STACKED with boons and on the 4th floor. Armour was just under 9k (71% reduction) and Elemental was 75%. In room 3 I had a gauntlet which isn't usually too bad. I've run this trial in previous seasons maybe a hundred times and never had a problem. ONE shimmering orb that came out of a mirror hit me because I hit shred accidentally and hopped forward a step. YES I did have the affliction "Traps deal 100% increased damage" but based on the honour lost (with 74% resistance) that little mirror orb did 6554 damage in a single hit. I have never seen that kind of damage come from a single orb. Maybe they have been buffed since last season. Last edited by Daikano01#2348 on Dec 17, 2025, 1:32:56 PM

" Yes, I am aware. But I ran blood mage last season with the same helmet (no resistances) and never saw this kind of damage taken from elemental hits in the trial, and I had FAR less armour mitigation. Something has changed, I'm sure of it. |
