Brutally honest opinion

I make this post, because I like the graphics of PoE2 and therefore think it has potential.
But at the moment, PoE2 feels like it is not much more than a tech demo.

————————————

First of all: We need a campaign skip.

Being a slog or a chore doesn’t even begin to describe the pain.
There is no argument against it. It is what everyone wants. You say it is unfair for new players?
It is not. The first time you WANT to do the campaign. But ONLY then. Also, new players can’t ‚compete‘
with experienced ones anyway - and they don’t care about ‚competing‘ as they have to explore things.

A campaign skip would give the players a lot because they could actually enjoy different classes.
They would play much longer. Is this not something you want?

————————————

Second: Druid is a big disappointment.

Bear should have bear skills. Wolf should have wolf skills. Meaning:
Brutally shredding through enemies with a lot of gore and blood.

But what did you do? You made the bear a caster and let the wolf use ice strike!
Excuse me? This is fitting for six year olds.

And the Wyvern walking and ‚hitting’ animations look so awkward it is just hilarious.

————————————

Third: The league is a big disappointment.

No one likes a puzzle minigame to disrupt the flow.
It is just tedious. Also no one likes temples as indoor rooms.

Have you asked yourself, why everyone plays the beach map in PoE1?

————————————

Finally: No endgame changes.

Everything is exactly the same as last time. Do I have to say more?

————————————

PS: I like ‚engaging‘ combat, meaning combat like in souls games.
But you can’t make this happen when the player is swarmed by monsters.

Either you make the game a soulslike with a top down perspective
(which would not be very much like an arpg and which would require you to redesign
every enemy in the game apart from bosses) or you make it like PoE1.
At the moment it is just a torture because it feels like PoE1,
except you always suck.

+1 for the Campaign skip

Played 1,121 hours in 0.1 and 0.2 with multiple classes, but I can't stand it anymore. They actually don't understand—or just ignore—that the campaign is getting old, both in concept and execution.
asking for a campaign skip at this stage of development for current endgame would be a mistake.

But even if endgame became like POE1 it probably wouldnt be something they would ever do. As it hasnt happened in that game and people have the same "issues" that they have in poe2s campaign
Mash the clean
the problem is that you guys understand the campaign like it was a formality to reach the real game.

It is not.

Its part of the league start. Adapting your char to overcome it, starting weak and every gear is useful, learning the layout, bosses etc is a core part of the game.

If you could jump to maps to just repeat whatever, you would make most of the players burn faster and quit the game faster, not the opposite. You would also destroy the sense of achievment to race to endgame.

Some changes we think are good for us, are not for the game (and prob they arent for us either)

As a dev friend always tells me (he aint from GGG). The most important part of the dev job is to protect the players from themselves.

Campaign skip is not required. Just look at D4 in this regard. I think the problem with campaign is that we only have 4 acts from God knows how many and it's already too long. I think PoE 1 campaign length is perfect. Probably 6-7 hours on average while speedrunners can do it in like 2 or 3. That should be GGG's goal if they want the game to be more replayable.

For the rest of the points I think that shapeshifting looks pretty good but the Druid ascendacies are literally garbage.

League mechanic concept is very cool but the implementation is the worst I have ever seen in any aRPG I have ever played.

No end game changes... just pain

Bingo!

Similar length as PoE1s campaign is what's needed. It's perfect to get to know the character/build idea/skill set, start gearing and upgrading, do some useful and interesting crafting, and get your muscle memory/dexterity sorted out as you go up the ramp to early maps, then you climb that ramp and become prepared for end game grade challenges. So few people want to spend 20-30-40 hours on a campaign alone, especially when that campaign is so oppressive and unrewarding.

sry bro, but if you say druid builds are garbage, you prob didnt play or deep studied them. Prob the best designed class in the game, also overpowered
I don't want campaign skip. Don't see the point. Endgame itself is far longer than the campaign.
