This game needs to become more casual
|
Forcing a 'niche, punishing taste' on everyone doesn't align with gaming as a form of mass art. Even other demon-slaying games have become casual enough to take away this game’s light users. Who is this game actually for? While a small minority might enjoy this, it is a grueling ordeal for the majority.
Playing through the Acts every single season? Honestly, it’s insane. The punitive gameplay mechanics make no sense—why must we sacrifice 3 just to gain 1? Why are Life nodes being withheld? The pioneers of this genre didn't include those features for no reason. This 'rebalancing' feels incomplete and lacks a vision for a better system. Please, take the easier, more accessible path. This game is too harsh for casual players. Who would want to turn this on after a long day at work? I know this might sound like I’m just complaining, but it’s because I hate to see such incredible potential go to waste. The game has so many strengths, but this insistence on a specific, narrow taste is ruining it. I’m no expert—just a fan speaking from the heart. I truly hope to see this game move in a better direction. Last bumped on Dec 17, 2025, 1:38:49 AM

Nobody is forcing you to play this game. If it's such a problem with the "majority" of players, then people will stop playing and it will sort itself out. However, that's not going to happen. People play this game over similar games like Diablo IV because of its complexity and its more involved mechaincs/gameplay. This game quite literally exists for the audience you deem is the minority, and has since its inception. Not everything is made for everyone, nor should it be.

" You're missing the point. It’s not about the complexity; it’s about the game’s direction and flawed design. In fact, the game isn't complex at all—it doesn't even require POB like PoE1 does. I see what you're trying to say, but you're arguing against a point I never even made. Furthermore, what is the reason for global marketing? I believe your logic is flawed. This seems to be a game designed for profit and capital, rather than an indie project funded by a small community Last edited by wingzoon10#7973 on Dec 17, 2025, 12:50:06 AM

Have you played Silksong yet? That game is 10 times more difficult than poe2 and yet it is still overwhelmingly popular.
You're not speaking for any sizeable portion of the 'casual' player base. Things you might want are not necesserily the consensus, so learn to speak for yourself. |
|
" Your example is completely off-base. I may not know every detail about Silksong, but I know enough to see why it's praised: its intent and direction are perfectly aligned. Comparing it to this game makes absolutely no sense You claim I don't represent the majority, but then why do you think so many players are complaining about the repetitive, tedious, and overly long Acts? It's because the experience doesn't match their expectations. What is even the purpose of the Acts in this game? As I mentioned in my post, while a minority might enjoy a one-time questline, don't most people play seasonal games for character progression in the endgame? Is this really the right direction and intent for the game? |

" According to whom? Do you claim to know the direction this unfinished early access game is aiming fo? Did you mean to say that this game's direction is misalinged with your vision of what it should look like? " Look up confirmation bias. A very loud minority are the ones complaining, the vast majority don't use forums/reddit. " The reason people play seasonal games is because they enjoy them and are willing to start fresh with new content. The purpose of the campaign is the same as the rest of the game - to progress your character. And just so I understand your 'point' - are you claiming that a ~10 hour campaign is too long in a game that's based on grinding for weeks+ in each league? |

For a game like this, I don't see alot of games being as hard as shit as this game has. This game I had difficulity facing against the first boss of Act 2 because he hit like a truck, I ask for help, but attracted the toxic community of this game being toxic as usual. Luckly druid is strong enough to actually face it with medium difficulty... but if I was playing my sorcerer or dare even a monk that is not powerful, I end up getting shit on by that boss.
This game needs a difficulty drop, save the hard shit when your doing maps. reduce the health of bosses by at least -25% and their attack strength by -30%. Let people enjoy the class and builds that they want to pull off till they reached maps where it is the true test so people could enjoy the campaign. I've quit path of exiles 2 0.1 and didn't come back till druid came out because of the difficulty spike escalated way too much where I felt walled off. SO I quit playing and wait for the difficulty change to happen, while flipping the bird to the toxic community for not helping me out. |
