Thawing Charm Not Activating

I don't know if it's just bad luck on timing or what but I think thawing charms aren't activating for me. Multiple times I've died while frozen and this time around I can see I still had my charge (not idea if I got it *as* I was dying or what - I was already frozen). Not sure if anyone else has seen this.
