Meta Gems + Skills provided by Items

I think it would be a nice idea if we could socket skills such as Cast on Critical or Cast on Ailment into skills that are provided by items.

For example, I am currently using The Whispering Ice staff, but the map clear feels bad because the cast time and the delay before impact are too slow for white mobs.

So I was thinking that if we could automate the skill like we do in PoE 1 (for example Cast While Channeling, which we socket directly into the staff), it would feel much smoother.

My suggestion is to allow socketing Meta Gems into skills that are provided by items — or perhaps introduce a new Lineage Support Gem that acts as a meta-gem specifically for this purpose.
