Nova Projectiles not supporting Minion Skills

In last league, the Nova Projectiles Support Gem was working with Minions, such as Spectres and Skeletal Archers.

However in this league neither work in the case that you cannot even socket those in. The Support Gem itself has nothing noteworthy even mentioning this fact, nor the patch notes.
