can anyone recommend any alternatives to this game? i can no longer take it its just not fun to play at all. terribly unbalanced

isnt d2 a bit old? ideally i want something with wasd movement. ideally i want poe 2 without any of jonathens input

Not sure what you're looking for exactly, but you might wanna take a look at Grim Dawn, Last Epoch or Victor Vran.

" as someone who usually announces their departure multiple times. yeah, ggg doesnt care too much if i leave. and i have left again. so +1 on your -1. i agree with you. as for disliking poe2. currently i prefer poe1. i would even go on to say its superior for now. there are things that poe2 does that are better. for example the skill gem system where its separate from gear. poe2 does have a lot of potential. but i would prefer if poe2 was its own thing and the devs just reworked it with ruthless/slow deliberate gameplay in mind. as it is currently poe2 has an identity crisis. trying to do everything at once. i like the idea of poe2. but i dont like it as it is. and i m not confident ggg can steer it into the game that i prefer since most of the playerbase prefer zoom zoom brainless playstyle. and they have to listen to who gives them money. my voice is too small nor do i contribute as much as i used to. if i had to choose to play poe right now or for the next 2 years, it would be poe1. but if i had to choose what i want to play in say after 3-5 years time. i would prefer if it would be poe2. " as someone whos played a majority of d-likes. i would say d-likes that have an end game tend to be unbalanced to begin with. the majority playerbase love power fantasy and devs are more likely to make harder content rather than nerf/rework/rebalance overperforming skills/builds. a more balanced d-like would actually be tq1/tq2 or gd. one thing i realized after drifting in and out of being a poe fan is everything that makes zoom-zoom gameplay feel great is perfectly captured in survivor like games. it distills the essence of power fantasy in a short hour or so, bypassing the grind and you dont feel too frustrated if you die. if you dont like zoomy gameplay, the next best things are roguelike/lites. these are much more balanced but your build choices are limited as well as your gear usually being less RNG based. this lack of RNG actually helps keep the game balanced. you need actual skill to get far in these games. if you like roguelike/lites, then it would mean you prefer a more skillbased game. if you dont mind a more DMC ARPG game, then i highly recommend where winds meet. it has some rng loot but mostly all bosses can be overcome with pure skill.
