WHY DID POE 2 NOT TAKE AN APPROPRIATE DEVELOPMENT PATH?
|
STEP 1: 3 Classes & 6 Ascendencies
STEP 2: Campaign Acts 1-6 STEP 3: Endgame Endgame - Adds some base content and mechanics from POE 1. - Allows to target farm those with atlas tree and map device. - Allows to chose map layout to complement class/skills. (This should have been 0.1.0) Step 4: Gather data and observe, create lessons learned list. Step 5: Improve/Expand/Rebalance/Update Step 1-3. Step 6: Deploy changes. Major changes: - Improved and optimized performance of endgame / campaign. - Release of a new class and ascendency and new skills plus gear. (This should have been 0.2.0) Step 7: Gather data and observe, create lessons learned list. Step 8: Improve/Expand/Rebalance/Update Step 1-3. Step 9: Deploy changes. Major changes: - Temporarily finalizing campaign / endgame and adding more QoL. - Release of new class(es) / ascendencies / skill(s) / gear. (This should have been 0.3.0) Step 10: Performance check for endgame / campaign and player acceptance/replayability til 1.0. Step 11: Improve/Rebalance Core aspects of the game according Step 10. Step 12: Main focus on more classes / ascendencies / league mechanics til 1.0. (Now we should be in 0.4.0 and iterate Step 10-12 until we hit 1.0.0) It feels like GGG is all over the place how 0.1.0 - 0.4.0 played out. According to the player count, 0.4 is likely to be the necropolis league of POE2. Last edited by jakobkaminski#0365 on Dec 19, 2025, 6:33:14 AM Last bumped on Dec 19, 2025, 7:11:32 AM

Anyone has thoughts about this?

You do know game is still in beta and not actual released?
|
|
" Read the post again and think why there is an interation for Step 10-12. |

I can't believe your armchair can stand such your development power.

Because screw the players and take their money.
That's why. A more reasonable development path was to give us a Character who could start anywhere on the Talent Tree and focus on creating Weapon Skills and Spells for the game, in preparation for the implementation of the actual classes. |
