Leagues are the dumbest part of this game

I know there are few psychos out there that dig replaying the game every 'x' amount of months to experience a single, almost pointless addition to the game...But many of us normies hate it.

I have no reason to waste my time replaying this game when I know in several months everything I do just gets erased...no...sent to the standard league.

The solution for this - to make EVERYONE HAPPY - is to make standard league more important.

Then rely on Leagues EXACTLY AS THEY DO NOW!

The caveat is that leagues would funnel new items and play styles into standard.

So leagues would function more like EVENTS - where people start new - play through, earn as many of the new things as they can, to head back into standard with new builds, or new trading material.

Fixing standard would involve making it the defacto PVP league. Adding standard only bosses (suped up, obviously, because people would have a ton of great gear). And adding some SERIOUS currency sinks (The obvious step up would be to require actually gear destruction for currency sinks).

Without taking a step towards that, I simply have no reason to keep playing this game.

I hate to say it but then its simply not the right game for you.

I used to feel like you at one point but honestly if you give 1 league a honest try and just play it and enjoy it without worrying too much, you will come to realize how quickly you run out of content. Either due to reaching your goals or simply not enjoying the monotonous grind of the endgame.

In the grand scheme of things building a character or two does not take that much time and by the time a league ends you have already forgotten they ever existed.

When a new league happens it is a refreshing feeling, because it gives us an excuse to replay the game and enjoy the journey. It is not a penalty.

If you feel like you don't have the time to play the game and are stressed out by the 3-month league timer, I honestly feel it is more of an indication you don't enjoy the core game.

why though, when it can so easily be fixed without ruining anyones current acceptance of the game.

it doesn't stress me out, and i can find time to play it. The issue is - I just dont see a reason to replay it.

its like turning on a movie you watched 10 times already.

What im suggesting is that they add another layer so that watching the movie again means something.

In the case of this game - that could be standard - which would give leagues a legitimate reason to engage with so that you can improve your standard character.

Theyd just need to pivot slightly to focusing on building a standard league that is engaging and connects with the end of each league.

I understand why and i understand why u give this feedback, but tbh GGG wont change this.

I suppose it would not be such a problem if it wasn't such a long slog every time. I've said it since the beginning, the feel of POE2's campaign is a lot more like a standard RPG with long term investment in pacing, leveling, and gearing but league and other aspects seem to be built contrary to that.

standard doesn't really serve a purpose for most players
it's just a bandaid for those that want to continue playing (just doesn't work yet due to all the changes to skills/items each league)

hopefully that changes post-release (1.0+) but I don't know how that works with POE1.
its a game about progression, and every progression will end at some point no matter what. seasons have the purpose of resetting economy and progression, and give a fresh new and hopefully fun progression with new paths and ways.

for me personally, the moment progression ends i lose interest in the game, give away my stuff to people that have not finished and go into the void and play something else.

that is the moment you want to stay, the point you cannot progress further. believe me, at this point everything you could do is worthless. its about the way, not the character at the end.

if this way is not fun enough for you to play again, then you should consider playing something else, thats fine.
