Brutus Brain not working on pain offering sometimes

have brutus brain attached to pain offering and like half the time when i cast it it disappears in under 1 second, i have skill effect attached to it also it should last like 10 seconds without being able to take damage, it doesnt happen everytime but it happens very often. ive noticed it happen more in boss fights and near abyss pits
