Lost Trial of Sekhema's progress

I just completed a level 60 trial of Sekhema's, which would've given me my next Ascendancy points. After completion, I tried clicking on the shrine to give me the points, it would open to the passive tree, centered on the Ascendancy (as expected)... But I didn't have the points. I kept trying to click it, exiting the shrine and reopening it, nothing. After a minute or 2 of this, the game just disconnected me. I've not had other network problems, and the game is overall running fine. It took a while to reconnect, and I got back into the game, and the trial is just closed for me. I can't get back to the end of the trial, and I've lost my Barya for doing the trial again. Getting another level 60 Barya from the market is ~12 Exalts, which is something I don't currently have (I got my original one as a drop).
Why did the trial close when I got disconnected?

So, I can still get back into the trial, and I didn't realize that I needed to complete a 3rd trial to get the Ascendency points. To get back in, I had to select the console and "confirm" entering the trial. However, this did spit me out *after* the reward room after the second boss of the trial, because I hadn't yet looked at the other stuff (merchant, chests, whatever). Not *AS* big of a deal, but still annoying.
