Cross Slash hits not registering

I've noticed Cross Slash sometimes misses enemies inexplicably. This can happen even at 0 range and where it looks like they should have been hit by both gouges. I'm currently level 50 in a Level 48 Vaal Temple. Cross Slash stats show 100% chance to hit at 2m, 99% chance to hit at 5m. I noticed it happen once, so I did some testing and was able to recreate it again a couple other times with other units types. As a side note: When it does hit, the damage output seemed more variable than I would expect given what the tooltip damage range currently states (527-862). This is harder for me to gauge without hard data, but just from doing some basic testing and visually examining enemy health bars, some hits barely seem to scratch an enemy and others make quite a dent. Obviously there are a lot of factors there, but I have some understanding of the damage mechanics and I tried to account for what I could (same enemy/enemy type, life levels, similar position and distance, no buffs, no debuffs, no marks (so no shockwave), etc.) and I can't really figure out the discrepancy. If I were to speculate - Maybe there's something wrong with the damage calculations, or, if indeed some hits aren't registering at all, it might also be true that only one claw gouge hit is registering, when visually both are hitting. Some further speculation - Maybe the hitbox of the skill is off, maybe attack patterns aren't registering at certain positions/orientations/angles or maybe enemy movement or player movement (from the skill itself) is throwing it off.
