[0.4] Build of the Week Submission - Spark Twister Battlemage Invoker

INTRODUCTION

Hey everyone! It's my first time posting a build like this to the forums, so I hope everything goes over well.

This is my 3rd season making a Twister build, and I wanted to do something really out of the box with it this time. It began with the simple idea of using Twister as a means to proc a Cast-on-crit spell damage link while simultaneously leeching heavy amounts of mana to pay for the resource costs of that link. Fast-forward to now and that idea has transformed into an epic Battlemage Invoker with more synergistic interactions than I can count, combining Twister with a dual-linked Spark (both similarly functioning skills that feed off each other and scale in almost identical ways).

PROS & CONS

+ High ceiling for mobility scaling through weapon swap
+ Lots of skills automated through a fairly simple rotation
+ Easy mapping with multi-screen-wide freeze and clear
+ Extremely strong in small arenas like Ritual or the Vaal Temple mechanic
+ Budget-friendly gearing

- Complex to set up with lots of moving parts
- Can have issues with mana management
- Poor bossing DPS in large arenas
- Unique-heavy gearing

Just saying that following your guide, with 223 spirit, does not cover all the needed skills / gems.

besides that, all good I guess even tho that when I was switching to spark crit, I almost couldn't even complete tier 1 map.

donno if its my build or not, but it looks almost the same as yours.

anyway, thanks for the guide!

1. The build needs 211 spirit, you are doing something wrong.

2. Again, you are doing something wrong, as the build template relies solely on Tangletongue to scale critical strikes.

I would like to support this build, and the creator - as it is a FANTASTIC build.

I play Hardcore SSF and have played this build from level 1. That is a big testament to this build. Tangletongue is easy to chance for in SSF and boots are easy to gamble/chance as well.
The only mandatory unique is either of the two ground effect boots (why is there not a 3rd to complete the elemental set - GGG??).
Tangletongue is good, but not mandatory and the ring is 100% optional. The belt is also too dangerous to have in Hardcore, and I don't feel I need the leech anyway. For Hardcore SSF, the ring and belt slot is too important to give up - at least at my point in the game.

I am now level 85 and doing yellow T15 maps (3 mod with 2 abyss waystones) and the build performs way above my expectations. I did not think it would keep scaling damage as it does - but it just shreds huge groups of mobs.

As I am playing Hardcore, I naturally opt for more defenses (Blasphemy aura instead of Elemental Invocation and more EV/ES nodes), so I actually have less damage and speed than the template build posted here.

This is an extremely thought out build, and every time I "unlocked" a new layer of the skills, the build just elevated even further.

I hope this build will get featured or get some traction, because firing off (I don't actually know how many) millions of Twisters in one go - feels absolutely amazing!
