Still experiencing altar of ascendancy bug that was apparently fixed

On my sorceress, I got my first 6 points from the temple of chaos, and then someone offered to do all 8 for free in chat through the trial of the sekhemas, but when I got to the altar of ascendancy, it wouldn't even let me interact with it.

A little later I created and leveled my huntress character, then tried to get my ascendancy from a trial of the sekhemas that offered all 8 points, but again it just would not let me interact with the altar of ascendancy at all.

After looking a little I found forum posts saying that this was a common issue, but was apparently patched in april last year? Also regardless, still to this point, I have not even touched the temple of chaos on my huntress and am unable to interact with the altar of ascendancy in the trial of the sekhemas.

I have no clue what is going on, but this is quite painful and seems to be something that should not be occurring in the first place.

I'm sorry but did you even read the post? I couldn't interact with the altar on two different characters. One of them had 0 points and hadn't even chosen its ascendancy. I was at the altar of ascendancy after the 4th floor of the trials, but I could not interact with it at all.

Found fix purely by luck. Shouldn't be like this

Okay so I'm very lucky someone offered free 8 points in global chat. After the boss the same thing started happening, I tried clicking the altar and nothing happened, I started spam clicking it and still nothing. But then I started walking around the altar while spam clicking and it just pops up to chose my ascendancy out of nowhere. I have no clue what the issue was, but I was able to get the points.
