Einhar's Beastrite - losing buff

When using Einhar's Beastrite I've noticed sometimes my buff will disappear long before timer is due to run out, I think it may be when killing a non rare with the assigned weapon skill (sometimes happens in mob fights) but not sure.

Just wondering if this is intended behaviour or a bug?
