MELEE Spears are Lackluster
![]() I'm late to the party but, What's with the massive difference between a very similar skill? Spear version of Cull-Charge skill is slower, less damage, more mana cost, doesn't have "Can't be Evaded", doesn't have extra target. Here I thought "run thru them" would mean pierce thru pack like POE1 "Whirling Blade", but no, it's flow around enemy, sometimes, which if successful, would make your character right inside pack, which Disengage doesn't have enough range to get out off, nor have good AOE skill to mow them. Rake is delayed damage and Whirling Slash is Weak/Tiny. At least QS have proper AOE, knockback or a proper "run thru" skill, Gathering Storm. Also Can't MELEE spear also uses Frenzy? Why can't they? Like whirlwind slash explode, or 360 Rake? Nova Rapid Assault maybe? Rapid Assault's 'Final Strike' is also buggy with Crescendo/Rending Apex. What are these awful MELEE skills. I know they want to make different weapon feels different, and they definitely do, but can't spear even have a proper run thru piercing skill? Impales? Pin? Everything is conditional. Distance, In-Out, Frenzy, Detonating, Consume, or just pure slow. Everything is slow and the payoffs for mandatory multi skill is barely good. Combo is fine, as long as the payoff is great, but the base skills should be good enough, eg; more damage, faster, more coverage. Except LS. LS is great yeah. Where Frenzy empower it, but it works with or without Frenzy. But it's ranged, and its elemental. Or perhaps because it's a 1 button skills? But that's so POE1. Doesn't fit the vision right.
