Commited suicide vs rogue exile

So I was playing my char with ~900 hp 2500 es 54% phys damage reduction and cloak of flame as well as bleed damage taken as fire and poison+bleed charm which wasn't triggered 75/60/50 res in act 4 prison and I encountered some rogue exile I didn't see which because it died pretty fast but after I killed it I instantly died read <0,5 seconds and it said I had committed suicide neither of my flasks interact with my hp nor does my spell costs.

I was playing ed contagion and by the speed my energy shield went down I'm guessing I somehow managed to spread my essence drain to myself - does a mechanic like that exist with the rogue exiles or was that just a bug?

Assuming anyone knows/have seen something similar happen.

Character was called SacriaChaos I initially just logged out but then I realized there is about 0 chance I die to anything that fast with defences like these in act 4 in a level 46 zone
