Rampage Feels Bugged: Losing All Defenses During Bear Animation?

I’m starting to get a clear feeling that Rampage is somehow bugged. Do you also feel like you completely lose all your defenses while the bear is preparing to use Rampage, specifically when it’s standing on two legs during the skill?

bump this thread because it’s impossible: I’ve been one-shotted, or almost one-shotted, every time I get hit when the rampage animation starts.
