Oneshot from boss in Test of Cunning (lvl 60)

It seems I got one shot in this fight, although my shield has not moved and I have barely lost any Honour.
Even if I got hit, I believe a lvl 60 scorpion shouldn't go throguh 8.1k ES?

Could it be that the bosses damage somehow did damage to my life instead of ES - similar as if you had the Heavy Buffer Notable allocated (which I don't)?

Sucks to have to run trial again now which I'll probably just skip.
