Pausing game doesn't pause some possibly important things

I pause the game quite frequently so I found two different issues.

Gameplay affecting:
Doedre's cauldron valve - when the game is paused, the cooldown to use valve in order to swap Doedre's liquids seems to be progressing. This can lead to player being able to use valve to switch liquids before even Doedre appears on the arena. Tested it and pausing right after using valve and waiting a few seconds let me use it again right after unpausing.

Visually unsettling, possibly dangerous:
So I was fighting Atziri and went for an ALT+TAB leaving the game paused. It took me quite a while, so when I returned, I saw something truly out of this world. The effect of some reddish ribbon or fluidish thing that crosses the arena once in a while got stacked like hundreds or even thousands of times. Effectively I couldn't even see the arena, as there was that tentaclish mass of particles obscuring everything. After a while it went back to normal, so that I remembered where even I was before pausing.


So it seems:
1. There are some timers that don't get paused when the game itself is paused (possibly subtracting two timestamps? not safe with pause for sure)
2. Pause doesn't stop some effects from appearing, yet it does stop them from disappearing, thus stacking them beyond imagination.

I recommend checking if there are some more cases of those issues through the game - might save some work later on
