filter setup

I do this maybe 2 x a year but can't recall how. I JUST started latest season, ned loot filter, found a semi -strict for PoE2, highlitght all 4K plus lines, click copy, can NOT paste in anywhere (Documents\My Games\Path of Exile) I can see filters from previous seasons/whatever they are called but can NOT figure how to get a new current one in the right place. constructive help PLEASE.

Ok now open Notepad app and paste the 4k plus lines in there

Then File, Save-as NameOfLootFilter.filter in the Documents\My Games\Path of Exile

If it's not showing up in the game try clicking the refresh button next to the loot filter list

Hope this helps

that helped a little, at least I could paste into the correct folder, HOWEVER, I can't find how to save as a xxx.filter file, only as text document etc. is there NOT a file I can just download rather than the copy/paste/rename etc?!?!
Ok on the save-as screen don't worry that it says Save as type .txt

Type the name you want for your loot filter then at the end of the name type .filter

example Save-as WARPAINTERSfishingrods.filter

If you do this it will save as a filter file instead of a .txt file.

Is there not just a file I can download instead of copy/paste/rename?

Yes. I assume you're trying to get this lootfilter from the PoE Item Filter page https://www.pathofexile.com/item-filter/ladder/follower/type/PoE2 which I had a look at and it doesn't have a simple download option.

HOWEVER it does have a very quick, easy way to use any of these filters.

You can view popular item filters below. To use one, simply click on the filter name and then click the Follow button. You should then be able to select the item filter available in-game (Options → Gameplay).

Otherwise you can download any of neversink's filter files from https://www.filterblade.xyz/?game=Poe2 you can even customize them easy here first if you want.
On the overview page select SC or Stable. Then choose your strictness. Then click export to PoE. You will need to login/authorize to do this. Then name your lootfilter. Then select if you want to download it as a filter file or sync it to your PoE account so it just magically appears in your in-game filter list.

Good luck
