every Spell build must solve one problem: recover the cost of spell
there are two ways to achieve this: 1. turn mana cost to life cost, then use life leech from spell 2. stack mana regeneration rate + a lot of curse + Quipolatl's Thesis compare to method 2, method 1 is obviously the better. only Blood Mage and "Atziri's Splendour Sacrificial Regalia" can make it by method 1 this makes Blood Mage the only one dominating all spell build. No way. Spells are already very dominating compared to attack.
In fact, ES leech should also be removed. |

I am playing a spark mage and mana remnant more than sufficiently supplies me with mana. For a mere 30 spirits you never have mana problems again.

" I wish I could use Mana remnant, but the requirement for "elemental ailment" are quite harder to achieve than 1 skill slot + 30 spirit since I'm playing melee physical. Now I'm stuck with mana leech. It's just a trade off. Spells already have a bunch of bs called "cast on this, cast on that". The problem are the insane mana costs. That is why blood mages and the blood magic node are used in the majority of builds at least the ones I have seen/played. No one like casting one time and then waiting 5-10 seconds to cast again.
Most builds now are either pure ES or MoM. Mana is easier to scale as an HP pool than HP and that should be the most telling thing. Mana costs need to go way down, then blood mage / blood magic can be toned down some to compensate. But at the same time, all the increase damage for increase cost nodes will need to be buffed to compensate. There is so much balance needed in the game. To be honest, I hope .5 is a class and endgame revamp. Then .6 is another class and complete overhaul of balance. Then .7 and on can start getting new leagues. Because melee needs a lot of love, mace needs some friends like swords and flails. IMO just put Abyss on repeat. I think it was the best league we have had and most popular with least bugs/abuse and market destroying. |
