Spells and ES needs some change.

They are too powerful and needed to be re-balanced.


First of all, ES have been a problem since POE1.

ES is not only a defense alongside AR, EV, but at the some time, they are also another form of lifepool, like HP. The worst part is, ES the best either as defense or lifepool, leaving AR, EV and HP in the dust.

The biggest issue is probably the fact that ES build can have all 3 armor's prefix purely for ES, which also scale with base value. On the other hand, EV and AR are playing game of tag with life which also happens to be in prefix, in which most of the time, there's no real winner.

ES simply can have HUGE pool with very little downside. Therefore, ES need a balanced flaw, more than chaos. ES should have a LONG cooldown that works similar to Sorcery Ward, and almost NO recovery. No regen, no leech, or ES on block. Only cooldown and perhaps a skill with much longer cooldown.

Or ES could be limited to life, perhaps 1:4 max ratio. 1:10 0000 for CI. Give some nodes to increase to ratio by small %, sure.



Next is spells,

Spells inherently have better coverage whether in term of AOE, projectiles and auto-targeting. It is simply good, with very little downside if you compared to melee skills, or even projectile like spears. The base casting time of spells are also relative short compared to plethora of -atk speed of many many attacks.

On top of that, Spells and a bunch of bs trigger and auto-cast on, that just works with more spells. Scaling spells are so much easier when everything just lined up. We don't even have 'attack on' meta gems. I'm not saying we need one, I'm saying remove all cast-on meta skills or make them trigger only from ATTACKS. That way, it's much harder to scale. Sheesh, do we even have cast-on melee stun? cast-on bleed? impale? At least make those crit/ailment energy only count from attacks and definitely not from automated cast-on meta skills.

The current spells are just so easy because all the stars are aligned. In fact, just make spells sooooooo much stronger but with cooldown.

Let those caster play piano like they are supposed to.

Please change scepter from giving spirit to "spirit discount" for minion spirit cost.

Invocation is fine I guess. It's a sort of piano.

ES have problem yes. BUT not for caster classes. Why? Becouse casters have no physic deffence = your max hit against physical attack is your es number. (from 6k to 11k). It means caster are oneshootable in hard maps and t4 bosses.
ES is a problem in mix builds especially with dodge.

2)
Casters have horrible single target spells. CoC + Commet is only 1 good way to do good single target in reality of 1 point. (When any hit can kill you)

3)
Only powerfull casters calsses in game right now is BM, oracle and lich.
BM have crit and LS.
Oracle have cirt and passive tree abuse.
Lich can cheat resources.

Befor saying that casters is strong. Try to play sorc with 40% crit without maligaro runing on foot with 2 builds in you chose(3 if you varashta). You will feel pain.
