HUGE BUG - CHARACTER SWAP - LOGIN FAIL

For the last few days ive been having this issue,

ill go to change character and instead of exiting to the character screen ill
get the words at the top saying "ENTERING CHARACTER SELECT" but nothing happens
and i just stay in the game screen.
After this happens my game will crash a few minutes later,
when i go to log back in my login button greys out and stays stuck there permanently.

Ive tried restarting game, steam client, restarting pc made sure nothing on my pc had changed over the last few weeks.

The only thing that seems to work is waiting it out and eventually i can login again, time frames to be able to relog have varied from 10mins-15hrs

Any insights would be muchly appreciated, ive logged a fair few hours in this game and dont want this to be the end of it.

i have a lot of infinite loading screens only thing helps for unknown reason- turning up vpn , get in game and then exiting to disable vpn (pingy as hell) and enter normally

I haven't had any issues with loading times other than the exit to character select screen, my network never really goes over 13ms unless I'm playing on Australia realm then it hits around 30ms
