Act 7 Essence of the Artist Bugged

I was in a group that killed Maligaro; I wasn't there when he died & my quest still points me to killing him. I no longer have the map & going to the Crypt does not drop a new map. The map device in the chamber of sin appears to be gone. I've seen threads from years ago on this bug. Is there a workaround or is my game bricked?
