My guess is a sequel to delve league.
Merc is way too fresh to already get a 2nd league.

I would like something like Invasion 2.0 with Gauntlet like mechanics on the invasion monsters and 50% exp loss on death in red maps ;P

They already stated its a Maraketh theme league. And we know Saresh, the weeping black also Maraketh/Faridun. He is a necromancer that loved his dirty experiments with living/dead human body. So i kinda agree that it can be a metamorph rework. But i doubt we will see mercs.
Also it could be a Jun rework, because rn its kinda out of place.
Also we have maraketh emblem in game, so it could be a legion rework.
Anyway, i hope it's not half baked poe2 wannabe keepers league.
