Why does it have to be like that?
![]() It's time to stop pretending that ^^ this type of gamplay ^^ is the peak of the ARPG genre If we look back at the roots, D2 or even the early PoE 1 days, the gameplay was about engagement, positioning, and resource management, AT ALL TIMES You actually had to see the monster you were fighting, you knew you'd have to be double more careful depending on what you fight, from beginning to end, from Act 1 to max level Now, we seem to have a Vampire Survivors loop, walk into a pack, trigger a screen wipe, and move on.. you can't even see shit on screen anymore This raises a few questions: Why are you forcing "bullet hell" mechanics into a high fidelity ARPG? If players wanted a survivor style game, they'd play one for 5$, why ruin your game? When a skill is designed to play the game for you, or to cover the entire screen, the "action" in Action RPG is no more, it's no longer about fighting or skill expression Is there really no middle ground? Many of us fell in love with PoE because of its COMPLEXITY, not because we wanted a cheap dopamine kick where the monsters are just slot machines It's honestly depressing to see the genre's pioneer drift toward mindless, brainless blastin Last bumped on Feb 15, 2026, 8:58:57 AM

It looks like PoE 1 endgame?
I haven´t touched PoE 2 yet ,.. and did quit PoE 1 years ago What´s the current state of PoE 2 gameplay? Is it just copypaste from PoE 1 and all things I stopped enjoying? Like screen clutter, items flooding (99% were crap), using one button speeding maps, one shots, OP healing etc. I have seen some early gameplay videos of PoE2 and it looked very different. Is it just the same way as before? (your gear >>> skill ). If it´s the case I am sad but I won´t touch it. Last edited by Rakiii#5559 on Feb 15, 2026, 8:51:13 AM

" PoE2 is not quite there but it's close, meta builds tend to go that road, damage potential can be extremely high. Tech guy
