Suttering in game
|
Hi,
Im in act 2 and today Im experiencing crazy stuttering. f1 dashboard reads that game is constantly using something like 4.7GB of VRAM. While remaining at 60FPS, and 15ms the game is unplayable. I am in Traitors Passage, but even the menu is laggy. Switching from DX12 to DX11 didn't help. Help! Last bumped on Feb 20, 2026, 2:08:32 AM

One screenshot shows your ping to the server as being 62 ms; the other, 84 ms. This suggests you're likely looking at a connectivity issue rather than a rendering issue. If you post a WinMTR log, we could try to either rule out or confirm that the issue lies with your connection to the server.
I am not aware of a step-by-step guide created by GGG - or anyone else - for this. The one below is a community-created resource which focuses on PoE 1, but which you should be able to follow easily enough while making minor adjustments - e.g. the game's install folder being in the same place, but having a different name. If you run into any issues, just let us know where you got stuck. https://www.poecommunity.help/information/server-connection What I would be very confident saying without seeing any further debugging data is that 4 GB of VRAM being utilised is neither unexpected, nor likely to the cause of any stuttering you experience. Hi,
Odd. tried the game in the morning, it seemed fine. Now in the evening same issue. I tried to run winMTR. Host: REPLACEME Im getting error - "Unable to resolve hostname" Im guessing i should use something else than REPLACEME? And Network usage in game is above 150ms for some reason. Same issue in POE1. I have no other games to test this out. And Windows was freshly installed a week ago. Last edited by LuckyMagic#7254 on Feb 19, 2026, 2:18:23 PM

OK Update!
I found the host servers and ran the WinMRT. While it was running i searched online. One of steam discussions suggested to do the following: " This has worked for me as well. The game runs smooth now. |
|
" Can we see the log, or..? " Using Predictive networking instead of the default Lockstep networking means that, instead of connectivity problems causing a stuttering effect, they will instead result in gradually worsening desync. In an ideal world the problem would still be root caused and solved - this is more a case of hiding one set of symptoms and risking another (arguably worse) set in return.
