How about an Raid maps?

Hi GGG,

Been playing a lot of PoE2 and one thing I keep thinking about is how endgame is still very solo focused. That’s not a bad thing, PoE has always been good for solo players, but PoE2 combat feels way more mechanical now and that made me think about something.

What if some endgame maps actually required multiple players to complete the mechanics?

Not just scaling hp or more loot with party size, but actual mechanics that can’t be done alone.

Current situation

Right now:

Everything can be done solo.

Group play is mostly about aura stacking or efficiency.

There’s no mechanic that forces real coordination.

Again, that’s fine. Solo viability is important. But PoE2 bosses feel more like “mechanic fights” now, and it feels like there’s room to try something new.

Example idea (just rough concept)

Let’s say there are special maps, maybe called something like “Convergence Maps”.

2–4 players required to enter.

Multiple ritual circles in different areas.

All circles must be activated at the same time.

If one player fails, the mechanic resets or gets harder.

Boss example:

Boss has a shield that only drops if 3 players stand in separate zones.

One player needs to intercept a beam that would otherwise wipe the group.

Maybe split arena phases where players have to handle different mechanics at same time.

This wouldn’t be about more DPS. It would be about coordination and positioning.

Rewards (this is important)

I don’t think this should lock main progression behind party play.

Instead rewards could be:

Cosmetics (portals, aura effects etc)

Titles or leaderboard stuff

Special crafting currency

Maybe uniques that are good in party setups

So it’s aspirational content, not mandatory.

Why this could work in PoE2

PoE2 combat is slower and more readable. Bosses already feel more structured compared to PoE1.

This feels like the first time in PoE where actual multi-player mechanics could work without feeling weird.

It wouldn’t replace solo endgame. Just add another layer for people who want to organize groups and push harder content.

Final thoughts

PoE has insane build depth and itemization already.

Maybe PoE2 is the chance to also push encounter design into something more co-op focused, at least optionaly.

Just throwing the idea out there. Curious what others think.

sorry for empty lines... I hate these programs...
It is a design choice from GGG to make everything doable solo and there is no hint that they have any chance of changing that design philosophy.

From a personal standpoint we have a enough games with coop stuff and raids to scratch that itch so I would rather GGG keep the focus on what has been working for them. Especially with how tight resources are spread between the two games right now.
Chage would not be a big. You do it, or not.
It would ring more payers and community.
This is a massive change. You really dont comprehend the amount of extra resources that would have to go into designing and balancing boss fights for 2-6 players.

They can barely release leagues without gamebreaking bugs with how crunched they are right now.
Wouldn't be fair for people who do not want to party.
They already stopped running the hour long races back in the day bcs ppl were pissed off that they were at a bad time.
I know I would never touch that content and if it had loot behind it it would be extremely annoying.
All in all that stuff should be left in games that are designed around that already.

Also this is the poe forum, poe2 is that way
Also your suggestion would make people quit.
