Game crashing with no error.

After 10 minutes or so of playing i instantly crash with no error message. I have done pretty much everything i can think of an nothing has fixed it.
In event viewer i am getting these two main errors: Faulting application name: PathOfExileSteam.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x69801b74 Faulting module name: PathOfExileSteam.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x69801b74 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x0000000000db2d03 Faulting process id: 0x1F70 Faulting application start time: 0x1DCA45C914039F9 Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Path of Exile\PathOfExileSteam.exe Faulting module path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Path of Exile\PathOfExileSteam.exe Report Id: 1a636d1a-2fb7-4377-b156-08fbefe5f8bb Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID: Faulting application name: PathOfExileSteam.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x69801b74 Faulting module name: PathOfExileSteam.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x69801b74 Exception code: 0xc0000409 Fault offset: 0x0000000002a958f1 Faulting process id: 0x199C Faulting application start time: 0x1DCA458DFEB92D7 Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Path of Exile\PathOfExileSteam.exe Faulting module path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Path of Exile\PathOfExileSteam.exe Report Id: 753b5baa-7dcd-4205-b1ed-c873d8a3ecf5 Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID: I have - clean reinstalled - vulkan and dx12/11 - shader cache cleanup - windows memory diagnostic - ran DISM - updated gpu drivers - reinstalled c++ redistributables - exception for PoE in Antivirus/firewall - ran as administrator among some other things. Should also mention it happens with PoE2 as well. No other game other than both PoE1 and PoE2 crashes like this.

I keep getting disconnected.

" Interesting. Are you able to reproduce this issue while booted into a Windows Clean Boot? " Out of interest, did you also run the System File Checker? (I'm not confident this would help - but it would be good to know it has been tried, just in case.) " Please create your own thread. A crash and a disconnection are two entirely different categories of problem. Having spent thousands of euros on Path of Exile over the years, I will not be further supporting it financially until and unless GGG resumes offering Technical Support.

I did do a clean boot but i got the 0xc0000005 after around 15-20 minutes of playing too. I also did run the system file checker.

run ram checks to test for ram errors
|
|
|
run /sfc scannow (launch the command prompt as admin)
i had the same issue, one of my ram sticks was faulty. way to check shut down and keep only one ram stick in the pc. run windows memory diagnostic (its a built in windows tool) this will reset you pc and start running the scan upon rebooting you see the results in event viewer or even just watching the scan itself if the first stick is good, take it out of the pc and plug your second stick the same slot on the motherboard then run the diagnostic again if both sticks are fine its more than likely a driver issue use DDU to uninstall and then do a fresh install of graphic drivers Last edited by mad_man_moose#5301 on Feb 26, 2026, 8:29:07 AM

Curious, what is your CPU and GPU levels at when it happens? If CPU is at 100% have you tried either running POE Uncrasher or manually going in and setting core limit? The crash it self, is it a freeze then a crash or the window just closes all together to desktop

in my experience:
if you CTD, there was an issue windows recognized and killed the PoE process, this should normally create a footprint somewhere or even show a popup, like driver issue or whatever, if those are missing you likely ran out of RAM space, dunno why that can happen without any prompt from the windows side of it, but thats whats going on...close background stuff to free more RAM and see if that makes a difference, even like just increasing the time before the error happens by a little, and then you got your confirmation... if PoE just freezes and becomes unresponsive or otherwise crashes weirdly with no proper error message its more likely a ram error, and those are not necessarily caught by the normal ram checks windows performs because a lot of ram errors are chance based, works fine 10 times in a row, then doesnt, the windows tests will run through without issues but poe will "find" the error withing 30minutes normally, get one of the better ram test tools and let it run for a few hours... |
