Cold gems feel a bit neglected

If you look at the data from Keepers league, you'll notice that cold active skills gems are the least used out of all the elements. According to poe.ninja, the two most commonly utilized ones are Ice Spear of Splitting and Ice Nova of Frostbolts, representing a combined 1,2% of all players listed. And, perhaps unsurprisingly, they were mostly used in lightning damage builds.

The new patch does nothing to remedy this. The new holy skills are physical/fire/lightning themed, and the changes to cold skills and supports are too few and far between to make a difference. Looks like we're headed for another lightning damage league, unfortunately.


I'm not saying Cold Damage as a whole is not viable; I'm saying it's not competetive enough, and Cold-based skills especially appear to be lackluster.

Please, for the next patch give us cold-lovers some new, strong and interesting tools.

Ziggy D also mentioned it and they basicly agreed in the FAQ that this is the case at the moment. however, Mark gave some hints that there are niches. I don't know what he refered to, but some of the Bossing builds are porbably just as good as ever and afaik they use frost skills in some cases. For example Ice Trap or frost spear if that one is still alive.

And honestly, you can probably play an ice shot build that is only slightly worse than other bow builds(which are very good) or you can play spark but freeze everyone with it like it's 2020, hehe. And once you invest a lot into the build it's gonna be guud.

pretty much waiting all my life for freeze pulse to be even remotly viable...
