Do we have any farming strategies left?
|
This is an honest question I wanted to ask.
First of all, I love the patch, all the atlas / mirage changes including kingsmarch sound like a great thing for the game. However, I'm getting that uneasy feeling that I also got in keepers of the flame. Post 3.26 mercenaries league where every farm was gutted, we even got blight gutted now. Sure, the new breach might have some juice. But everything else looks pretty much gutted to the ground (Including strongboxes this time). So, will we actually have farming strats this league? I know they're going to buff ground loot a bit. But I'm worried we don't have any "Endgame" farm strategies left. They all seem mid. And sure you can double every mechanic, but I don't know if we can have cool div strats anymore. This can be the only bad thing about this league. I hope GGG is seriously buffing loot to where the farms do feel good, but on paper, it doesn't feel like it. If anyone has other ideas or strats they think that can pop off, feel free to post them here. Last bumped on Feb 27, 2026, 9:28:09 PM

The things that are likely to carry the farming strategies are the things we know little about: Astrolabes and new mirage maps. The full potential of Astrolabes is unknown, but the little they showed off makes them a very powerful juicing mechanic. They are also all upside and don't seem to add any difficulty. The last few maps ran from a blob looks like it will get more juice than a risk scarab (maybe 2) would give with no downside.
With them nerfing the last few strats that were over-performing, everything is now on an even playing field and we now have completely new and better juicing mechanics for everything. This league is similar to Necropolis as a league that is going to be about experimenting with the new things to find the new strats after a large rework. Instead of being uneasy, you should be excited. I don't think loot is going to be the problem this league. I think difficulty will be. People already felt they had no use for their multi-mirror builds last league. With difficulty being removed in the endgame, this league will likely be relatively easy. But really they are in an impossible spot. If they make things as difficult as T17s, then people get mad because of bad build diversity. If you remove that difficult content, people get mad because they have no content to make them min-maxing their multi-mirror characters worth it. |

" I don't think it's an impossible spot. i think it is a numbers game and they have the data. My suspicion is that compared to the overall player number, the number of players that play more than one t17 map in a league just wasn't there. Otherwise they wouldn't have changed this because it's not like t17s are around since forever and people did not play those maps because they were boring and old and unrewarding. " What do you mean the number of players that played more than one T17 map in a league wasn't there? The main reason they are removing them is because T17's became THE place to farm. That was never the intention. They were only meant to be the gateway to uber boss content. They became the best and most popular farming spot. They don't decide to not remove/change things simply because people are engaging with it. They remove/change things because of feedback or if they simply don't like the design. Engagement is never correlated to whether something should be kept or not. Reasons behind engagement is what matters. T17 is one example, the kingsmarch change is another one. Everyone is engaging with Kingsmarch because it felt mandatory. That engagement wasn't considered a good thing, so they changed it. |

Well, i don't have the data i can't tell but this is my guess. To few players played them overall. All content creators of course in sc trade, which might make it look liek a lot of players play them but remember there are ~180k players on league start and i would not be surprised if only like 500 play t17s in the end.
So they looked at the data and said, ok that's maybe to ambitious even for the veterans and to few palyers play them, so we go one step down again with the difficulty for the best farms....just a guess Last edited by Strickl3r#3809 on Feb 27, 2026, 2:51:01 PM

You haven't even played the patch yet.

" While that's true, after playing so many leagues you do get an idea of how something could be off. But I hope I'm wrong, and the astrolobes/loot buffs do provide a satisfying endgame farming with a lot of tinks. |

I hate how this game has regressed into youtube strategy zerging being everybodys sole focus.

Juicing seems to be buffed quite a bit compared to incredibly bad keepers league (in ground loot and juicing regard)
-astrolabes are pretty potent from what they shown us. It's additional league juice that stacks with atlas juice, so you kinda get "phrecia" effect there, pushing mechanics beyond their full-spec potential. -Mirage juices our maps as well, offering access to part of your map a second time, where the mechanic itself is juiced and offers new rewards. This double dips with astrolable extra juice. -way better currency drop rates at a cost of useless rares we often filter out on day 1. The league has incredible potential, this is a really drastic endgame shift. Even breach seems cool, as you can now have many of them in the map. Spec into it, put some scarabs, run 4-6 breaches per map and print foulborne uniques or just sell wombgifts. You don't have to do the annoying 24-wavers anymore. Or wallers. They're completely blockable. |
