Would like a way to turn off audio for Beacon of Salvation map device

I had heard online that if you toggle to the version of the map device w/o the guy on the throne, the audio lines when you fail a map don't play. It does not work for me--that audio plays in both variants. I would like a way to choose whether to have the audio lines play or not.
