Can league closure be closer to the next league launch?

I have been enjoying my character immensely, mostly because I came back to the league very late and I am still in my "launch time" spirit.
And, the league closed on me.

First off I would love to continue playing, but my stash is all messed up in standard because the stashes I have been using are now remove-only and the stashes in standard have all the craps from way back when. It would take fair amount of time to reorganize them all into the state I am currently familiar with. Which is not worth it just to play for 3 days.
Secondly, there is no goal I can do in standard. The seasonal challenges is closed.
Thirdly, the market is all over the places, and when I buy something I have to concern if it is a legacy item or not, making experimenting builds very finnicky and not guaranteed to be new season compatible.

Why is there 4 days of down time between season closure and new season anyway? So that now I have to sit here looking for something else to play instead of continue enjoying what I have been enjoying.
This is the first time I have experienced this scenario since I normally have my fill in the first 2 months before drop and wait for next season. But life sometimes do happen. I hope GGG can give it a think, as a minor improvement for customer experience, for a very minor subset of customers.

You do realize they need time to wind down a league, run server maintenance cleanup, then ramp up a new league, right?
