LEVELED A TOON TO 100 IN POE...THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST GAME EVER FOR TRYING TO GET TO A MODERATE LEVEL. YOU'LL EDIT THIS IM SURE AND NOT SHOW IT BUT HOLY SHIT TUNE DOWN THE FIRST 20 LEVELS AT LEAST SINCE I'VE DIED 50+ TIMES BEFORE LEVEL 5...WTF!

I don't feel like its against the rules to say that you might want to stop blaming the game and start looking inward. Also the persecution tone in your post is off the charts. Relax negative feedback is all over the place here, I've thrown my own out into the void countless times and am still here. Believe it or not players level character to 100 without dying a single time in this game there's a whole mode about that.
I'm not about to suggest the game is well balanced... its not and there's a significant philosophical intention for your Character to randomly up and die in the design of POE due to randomized multiplicative scaling that is in the core "DNA" of the game. Which I personally find to be the worst aspect of the game. But that said it is by intent and not by accident. They want you to increase your skill and have plenty of room for mastery. To the point where if you're really good and at least somewhat lucky you too could get to 100 without a single death. But If you want the game to bend over backward for you you might want to look elsewhere. They definitely aren't going to make that game for you. Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4.
If they wanted mindless mobile game time waster gameplay they sure did make some perplexing choices and marketing statements for 6 fucking years. |

you leveled a toon to 100, but died 50x before level 5?
Are you......sure......that YOU leveled a toon to 100? Because if that is true and you personally leveled your character to 100, there shouldn't be any reason you should be struggling so much in the early game. There are two possible conclusions to draw from this claim: rmt action substituting experience, and/or getting carried to 100 (ie: NOT leveling a toon to 100) Even with just straight white gear...getting to level 5 with ZERO deaths after maybe a single playthrough as a beginner shouldn't be out of the realm of "expected experience". I'm wondering if this is in the wrong forum? I'm really working overtime to translate the OP because it's very unclear, but I've seen enough threads following the pattern of "I can get level 100 in PoE1 but can't beat the first boss in PoE2" to recognize some of the signs.

" The prevalence of these types of threads is why so many true veterans of this game continuously complain about how absurdly easy PoE 1 has become. Back in the day, PoE 1 was very much like (if not harder than) current PoE 2 startup. In PoE 2, most hard hitting attacks in the entire first act are HEAVILY telegraphed and easily dodged. In PoE 1, rhoas just charged you down and killed you at 1000% more speed than you had or could ever possibly have. Like....if you are still dying to the worm boss after a single encounter with him, you simply aren't playing correctly. If you are still dying to the explosions from those mother zombie things in the second area after encountering like...3 of them....you simply aren't playing correctly. These things aren't hard in the least. But they ARE "different" from PoE 1. Starting anew....with PoE 2 Last edited by cowmoo275#3095 on Mar 4, 2026, 10:31:40 PM

At least one doesn’t lose any xp in the first 20 levels to the penalty, so it should not have been too much of a speed bump on the quest to 100.

" I'm not ashamed to say that my first run through poe2, the mushroom druid in the cave in act 1 did mean things to my booty for about 40 minutes. Only the first time though. I'm also not ashamed to say that in the days of closed and early open beta of PoE1, every named act boss was a graveyard blitz for every character I made for about the first 6 months I played, and some maps I just didn't even attempt the boss because I simply couldn't handle them in 6 portals. I would say that overall, PoE1 in its early iterations was definitely harder, but a pretty big part of that also had to do with that there was a lot less information made readily available internally to teach you how to survive and show you where you went wrong. Pretty good example, I didn't even know that Kole's body exploding on death (probably due to the mortality experimenters nearby but I'm STILL not sure) was a big part of the reason why I usually died at least once to him. I only learned about that when Kripparian raged out about it in onslought league resulting in the devs tuning it, followed by making jokes about not nerfing rhoas the next day when he died again to a random rhoa in the mud flats.
