1.2.3 Patch Notes

Did i miss anything or isn't a lvl8 master out of reach for anyone who doesn't play a lot anyway? The outcry from the self-found 10h job family men seem artificially when they will never reach lvl8 on elreon to begin with.

And to make things clear to that group of people: the game is designed so that someone who plays 24/7 still needs more than two weeks to reach level 100 on one character, races in poe are won by whoever managed to shut down his life the most, overcoming rng takes an ungodly amount of tries that not many will be able to do, the economy is run entirely by the rich - this game is for those guys, not you, the 10h hard working family men. Of course do i realize that the 10h hard working family men may pay a good amount, but a huge part of poe'sreputation is based on it being the game no-lifers can play for ages to achieve specific goals. As soon as that is gone, there is no reason to play more after all is achieved. And therefor the people who help advertise the game, the streamers, the long-year hardcore gamers that attract other hardcore gamers would go away and with them all the viewers, the working men, the kids and their money. It's a different type of design philosophy.

Also stop trying to water down my experience just because you don't have the time to do what i can do.
You would never be able to compete in any competitive sport and yet you would never dare to ask the men in charge if they couldn't cut down the play time in half so someone who doesn't have so much time building their stamina could also compete. There still is amateur sport for you to compete in, like diablo. Maybe try that.

I thought the purpose of the Master crafting was to make it possible for a casual player to gain access to an item that would let them play through the game more easily.

With this change, you're once again alienating a majority of the casual player base, because, face it, Exalted orb drop rate hardly justifies being able to afford 2 of them on a single item.

What you are doing with these changes is just ensuring that the gap between players just increases more and more, and making it almost necessary to trade in order to be able to get through high level maps. This is clearly contradicting the whole point of the master crafting system.

Rest of the changes look fine.

So anyone who previously crafted the OP wands etc with this have just increased their wealth by 2 ex per item whilst the poorer players lose access to the mod. Surely this is a bad decision. Personally I thought the mod was not balanced in the first place. It makes a lot of unique weapons defunct. I don't doubt GGG usually...but this seems like a 2 tier mistake.


I appreciate a raise of this mod's cost, but Exalted Orbs are the wrong currency item for that. Have you even considered this? I'd vote in favour of chaos or regals, a great amount if need be, but NOT BLOODY EXALTS.

Most people will mostly likely never get lvl 8 elreon or any other master in temporary leagues and now its even more expensive then before. Does GGG realize the effect on economy especially for new players or people that play solo or not trade? So every weapon with the crafting affix just got a 2ex artificial boost to its price.

Instead of making it cheaper and thus more accessible to everyone, GGG does the exact opposite because they only see the meta of rich people ingame, not seeing that the average player will mostly likely never attempt to do Zana's map mods for example because of cost.

Also I'm pretty sure the flat physical thing is most definitly a nerf as adjusted almost always means decreased unless its explicitly mentioned. You'd want negative things to be as obscure and vague as possible while includingpositive things whenever you can, when you make announcements.

Jesus Christ. Masters already make gear more attainable for the casual player. They give such huge bonuses starting as low as level 4. But this doesn't mean everything about the masters has to "be for the casual player." It's okay for them add add content that helps both types of players, which they have done. Level 8 masters are not really something the casual player is going to obtain anyway. Nor does such a player really "need" the special types of mods that each master can offer them.

That said, I agree that exalts are not the right currency for this mod. Master crafting mods to help be a currency sink for other items would be preferable. A large number of Chaos would be good in my opinion.

Most casual players don't play temp leagues.
Mid season game breaking changes, man im done with temp leagues. This is a freaking joke, im pretty pissed that they r changing this mid league.
