Hi, thanks for the guide. I just got into act 5 and it has been helpful. However, it looks like you completely changed the guide today? No more lightning trap, eldrich battery, storm brand, and a few others. What’s going on? Am I screwed on my passives?

Spoiler
Not today. He's been reworking it for several days now and it has been announced for a couple weeks as well. Today started a new temporary league with patch 3.7 (which also has been announced for several weeks ingame and on the homepage) and guide-makers are regularly forced to overhaul their builds because of all the changes, buffs and nerfs that come along with it.

I don't even know how you found the old 3.6 tree. Wasn't it removed from the guide for the last few days? It seems, you're playing the build that was made for 3.6 now. There have been a bunch changes to the skilltree. I can't see your character and don't know how your tree looks like. You're probably not far into the game, but you might have to respec some points.
Hey Enki, first of all thanks for the build I've been following the evolution of it since betrayal and really like the mechanic of arc and a lightning themed caster.

I'd like to participate to this thread by proposing some point for you or anyone to think about when building an arc selfcaster :

My first point is related to shock effectiveness (SE) : the nerf to 15% of beacon of ruin makes us need to reach the cap of 234% SE in order to reach the +50% damage modifier. You can aim for this by pathing to Breath of Lightning (35%), Static Blows (50%), Divine Judgement (18%), Elemental Focus (10%) / taking Inpulsa (15-25%) / using SE jewels (not sure about the value) / SE implicit on weapon (7% if I recall correctly) / SE on helmet from the "socketed gems are supported by innervate" (up to 20%) (maybe I forgot some).
234% is therefore a big amount to reach especially at the low end.
However, there is an alternative to 234%.
Arc gives 30% SE internaly and Vaal arc gives 100% SE. If we manage to raise our global SE (excluding Arc) to 134%, then we would have 164% SE (thus 15%×(1+164%) = almost 40% more damage) with basic Arc and 234% (15%×(1+234%)=50%) when we use Vaal Arc for 4 sec minimum.
Like this I feel like the SE on Vaal Arc is not waisted if we choose to build like so and the nerf seems to make more sense : reaching the value of 50% more damage thanks to shock is only possible to Elementalists who really invests in it (not that I like the nerf but hey we have to live with it now).
The point is that we can focus on something else that SE when building the character if we only aim for 164% and Vaal Arc use would be a "Godlike" window for key moment.

Secondly, I was initially going to say that going non-crit seems more easy to follow for beginners but players in this thread seems to love it soo maybe I'm wrong. I'm still going for the 3.5 version of the build though (I prefer the aesthetics of the tree and I played too much acro/phase acro). On that note, maybe it would be a good idea to reference your ancient version of the build ? Like the 3.5 and 3.6 tree. You could also explain the changes you had to make from version to version (for example that going for crit takes up to much suffixes and that we are not able to run an attack speed based movement skill anymore and thus replacing WB by LW). Anyway this is maybe taking players too much by the hand or too much work for you but this type of insights are what I like most about guides. I'm willing to help you if you find that idea interesting !

On my phone so I can't share the pastebin link of the ancient non crit mana based version (easily adaptable to 3.7) but some player on poe.ninja ran it during synthesis league like these ones : https://poe.ninja/synthesis/builds?class=Elementalist&item=!The-Devouring-Diadem&skill=Arc&keystone=Mind-Over-Matter,!Eldritch-Battery

Thanks for the build, the kind that makes you think hard.
Disappointing that the build can no longer be viewed via Steam Overlay...

May I ask what the updated pastbin link is? Just want to make sure I'm using the right one, I took the one from the first post. Is it this one?

Thank you for this comment! I would love to see this idea, because i am having troubles beating the last Guardian on a T16 Elder shaped map. I would love to try the 3.5 version, and since i felt really strong with my over 43% of ky hp ES with the 3.6 version, i rather feel less strong right now wirh the Mana Version. + i didnt had ANY mana problems in 3.6 version, but now i see mana draining, which is irritating, because i have the motivation to perfect the build, and without the mana and with the old ES it seemed more “bnon stoppable “ to me. But i didn’t beat the T16 Guardian with it neither, so whom am i to judge...

Anyway!
Unfortunately i don’t get your first thought, and i am woundering what younmean with the shortcut WB and LB, so would you please explain?

Ps: anyone could recommend me a good Boss killing non-selfcast Build? Would like to run throughout maps, getting hit by mobs while standing in them and killing them with a big aura, while i cannot die. Is there something like this, yes or am i mistaken? What’s the name or the build? Would you give me a paste bin / poe.ninja link to it <3? Thanks a lot,
A rather busy student
ligtning warp feels so bad to use as ur main movement skill, even the new one frostblink feels A LOT better, even flame charge was a GODLIKE one compare to this, can i use good ol' whirling blades, or even leap slam instead of this garbage? or is it actually more effective in current setup? jeez even with quicksilver flask feels so much better to move around
Answer to @Enki:
How do i change my bandits quest choice? I have read this about
It, but still didnt understand: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2122357/page/1#p15512027

Also, ty for the information with the Wrath. So would i
Loose much because i loose one of
My rings for this thing you use to use Wrath without Mana reservation?
