Enki's Arc Witch Memorial Page & POE 2 Arc Summary
I would just hold off and wait until you can afford a level 21 Vaal Arc. You can't realistically expect to find or make one in your own, but there are plenty out there because of the divination card set that gives a random lvl 21 Vaal gem.

"So even building up 5 Arcs (including one you are using) still might not produce a level 21 when corrupted? I think I'll give it a try. I'll look to see if there are any level 21 Arcs for trade. Buy or trade--same thing? Thanks. |

" I would say you have a decent chance of getting a level 21 Arc by corrupting 5 of them, but it is in NO way guaranteed, as RNG can be very unforgiving. Last night, I corrupted about 15 of my equipped gems that were finally 20/20 and not a single one wound up as a level 21. Bad luck, but it can clearly happen. However, your chances of corrupting a level 20 Arc into a level 21 Vaal Arc with a Vaal orb are 0%. You should absolutely trade for one; they were only 30c or so a few days ago when I bought one. You should always have Vaal Arc on your skill bar, as it's HUGE free burst damage. Last edited by WorderMostFoul#7154 on Sep 26, 2019, 1:44:01 PM

"I looked at the trades right now and noted only one that was corrupted as level 21...but there was nothing offered for it... There are a ton of Arcs corrupted at level 20 though. Your last paragraph here somehow doesn't make any sense... If I don't have a chance of corrupting with a Vaal Orb what do I use to corrupt them with? Not that I have a lot of Vaal Orbs but should I be corrupting other/all active gems once they reach level 20 or is this only an Arc thing? |

" You must be playing on a different platform, then. I'm talking about PC realm, where there are plenty of them available: http://www.pathofexile.com/trade/search/Blight/Pvp47qUL If you're playing on a console, ignore my posts, since the trade economy is so fucked on consoles that you may as well be playing SSF. But to answer your question, the goal for this build is to get a level 21 Vaal Arc. Level 21 because there's a big jump in damage between level 20 and level 21, and Vaal Arc because the Vaal version of Arc is a powerful addition to the build. Corrupting a level 20 Arc with a Vaal orb has a chance to turn the gem into a Vaal version and also has a chance to raise the gem level to 21, but it can't do both. You can only get a level 21 Vaal Arc through a double corruption (tier 3 room in Atzoatl's Temple), divination cards (the Cataclysm), or trading (by far the easiest option if it's available). If you can't trade for that, do what the other poster suggested and level up 6 extra arcs so you can try for a level 21 regular Arc. |

Hello Enki, thank you for this amazing guide, really enjoying this build, i even killed my first uber elder few days ago with this build, had a great time, i got a few questions,
i saw in the guide that you stick with 18/20 Meat Shield, what is the reason keeping it at level 18? Havent find explenation anywhere, also have you got any suggestions to make this build a bit more tankier? Mostly becouse i got issues with legion encounters in red maps, getting one shot usually by ranged mobs |

" Just level the meat shield fully. For every gem you have to keep at a certain level, Enki has specified it in the explanation underneath the gems. It was one of the new gems added this league, so it was probably better to add the gem as soon as possible, rather than get it to 20 and then add a picture of it. For legion encounters my advice would mainly be, focus on movement mainly, rather than damage. Since most monsters fire attacks at positions rather than targets you should have a better chance at staying alive. I usually try to have vaal arc up again (1st use when the legion encounter starts) before the monsters become alive. This way I can focus on a few rares and dps them when there's a clear opportunity. |

Hi,
Another league, another Arc-based champion made :) THX to Enki and his hard work! But now i'm in a "closed circlet" - i need currency to increase dmg, i need more dmg for higher tier maps, i need higher tier maps for more currecy :( Currently, i'm able to do t10, but red maps (especialy with ahrder map mods) are very difficoult for me. Could someone provide me some advices, how to progress in current situation? I tried t7 blighted maps - 1 done, 1 failed by lack of dmg on bosses (i build fire towers a lot + slow/petrifing towers). Currently i have Pure Xoph Breachstone and t10 blighted Dunes - but i'm not sure if i should give it a try, or keep them for alter... or sell it for about 170c :( |

" The build scales dmg via crit for the most part, so you need crit chance (from passives tree and a bit on weapon/jewels) and then invest in crit multiplier. The goal is to shock everything, so you need these. In the passive tree there are nodes that give increase shock effects so make sure you have specced into those, with lv 92 you should cover most of the needed ones. You can also craft "Shock nearby enemies for 4 seconds when you're Focussed" to make sure you always shock regardless of map mods. Without shocks and crits you do no damage, these are the core offensive mechanics of the build. A filthy casual Last edited by Hologram_o#6409 on Sep 30, 2019, 4:02:25 PM
