This. I have tried the 3 counters facebreaker builds with almost max plat phys on gear, the damage on counters falls off so bad in late game, it was actually a joke. It was pretty op for leveling, but nothing else.

On the other hand, it's funny how they can disable one ability in some peoples builds just like that, while leaving legacy items in the game...


Well that is actually not true ... and you are probably doing it wrong ...



that's with
Herald of Ash + Hatred, Riposte + Culling strike + Added fire damage + Melee physical damage; Reckoning + Culling Strike + Melee physical damage + Life Gained on hit; Vengeance + Life Gained on hit

reckoning is one-shotting in 78 maps ...and that's just with 1 damage related support gem

The thing is not that counter-attack gems are not good with facebreakers ( in fact they are BEST used exactly with facebreakers because of the huge damage per hit ) the thing is that vengeance aoe is based on weapon radius which is terribly small on facebreaekrs. Even with huge amounts of increased AoE ( like i'm playing ) the AoE is still less than let's say cyclone... add the fact that it has a chance to trigger .. and you get a not so good counter attack gem .. especially compared to the other counter-attacks


im playing a fb block build with all three counter gems to get the enducharges (7 here; i dont have a corrupted meginord`s) and i actually thought removing vengeance would be a big deal for my build to keep my perma immunity to physical dmg up but it still works superb with only riposte/reckoning.

like korgothbg wrote those gems are really good and a very good addition to the game. and you can easily kill stuff with my (only 4l) setup in maps above 75. im using cyclone and on the fractured double boss shipyard i did earlier to test the new setup everything around me just burns (like before) and now i finally have a free slot for vaal haste/cyclone depending on what map im playing.

since im not playing lld atm i cannot say anything how the change "hurts" those part of poe but for me this change was not a big deal (at the end...)

CRIT/BOW SO OP... BETTER NERF IRELIA :D

30 times Dominus.... 2 unique :) Usually at least 10 crappy items in that many rounds with 300%IIR and 57%IIQ, but they dropped at least. GG!!!

Usually I can live with the nerfs, but this is not funny anymore. It was hard already to make good currency. Again: GG!!!

Any chance you guys gonna make the Eternals drop more often? At least poor people can start crafting good gear instead of the riches only.

You really haven't played FB at all huh ? Unarmed attacks can't crit. So no FB-CRIT is possible .. at all.

Fine, played FB/Counterattacks a lot this Season but never went Crit obviously.
Wasn't aware of the fact that unarmed is not able to crit. :D

Just saw that helmet and thought about the possibility of getting enough Dex + Strength to maybe make something like that viable.

So i was wrong about that, but FB is by far the most OP for leveling Chars.
Having champion packs get burned by HoA's overkill dmg on killing a Rare Mob is just sick!

4K dps with about level 40 should be fine for Cruel! Regardless of having another Counterattack.

FB Scale their dmg output through flat physdmg on gear, as this is capped by brackets you will never get enough dmg to onshot mobs in a large Party.

In soloplay FB are viable for endgame as well! They will never have the clearspeed of a massive Burn/Ignite but i think that will allways be a thing for most melee builds.
What about monster golf? Hit it HARD - go find it - Hit it hard again :D
Oh don't get me wrong FB is more than viable .. i've played many characters and builds .. just look at my profile .. and most of these characters have been used for multiple builds ... and i have to tell you FB in end game is much more powerful and clears a lot faster than most people think ( a lot faster than many fotm builds ) ... and of course i have countless the videos, high level characters and experience ( and huge guide ( 72 pages in Word ) + a smaller no longer working one ) to back those claims up.

You see i've tried more facebreaker variations than you could possibly imagine ... too bad that crit FB is just not possible .. i've always wanted to try such a build variation... well .. there are small exceptions when it comes to critting with FB. The explosions of Infernal blow can crit ( if you don't have RT ) and you can crit if your enemies are cursed with assassins mark ... tho this crit chance can't be scaled and thus is completely useless when it comes to facebreakers.

So yea trust me ... FB is hugely underestimated ...

peoples maps were crashing because too many dead bodies and items were in them, they would port out and then just crash to loading screen every time they tried to go back in. If you read the size of the change it is small and there so people dont spend 12c on a map mod and then have it rip on them because GGG allowed too many items and mobs too spawn, thats no fun either.


Bad excuse I've run a sea witch pack size shrine with double beyond and I didnt crash once.

yesterday we ran a fracture packsize double beyond and no crashes either there 3 man party.

It's just a nerf to one of the most fun late game activities :(



it doesnt matter if one particular map you ran didnt crash. Ive had maps crash, other people have had maps crash, its a thing, the change was small, you can still run double beyond and have fun.

crit was massively nerfed in the last big patch. Bows have been dogshit for 2 years and a complete joke, its only for the last 2 leagues theyve actually buffed them so people have started using them again. Think you are over reacting just a little and not really taking the realities into consideration.
