ya the drop rates from b4 allowed you to craft as you progressed w/o grinding or farming for 5+ hours

the current rates its just too uncommon for some orbs
in 9.2 on my archer I found at least 3 alch orbs in act 2, I havent found a single one on my character that is of a higher level. But that could just be luck

Yes the drop rate of currency items are very messed up.


Chaos and alchemy are extremely rare — they are like on par with exalted and regal (at least for me, because I've found one of each)

Regal and exalted drop at really low map levels, which I think is dumb.

Even alchemy and chaos seem to drop at a too-low map level (like 7 or lower).

Socket orbs, chance orbs, transformation orbs, and scouring are roughly fine, maybe a bit on the low side

Transmutation and augmentation (and wisdom and portal scrolls) are the only things that definitely don't need to be increased.

dont know man i rarely see any augementation, transmutation seems to be the only one which drop at decent rate. I finished game and have done plenty of chaos runes and havent found a single exalted or chaos sphere yet -.-

Level 58 and I have had 0 exalted, 0 chaos and 0 regal orbs drop, had maybe 6 alchemy.

Too low IMO.

Axes have higher DPS than maces, and attack slightly faster.

I actually agree with you. I had a lot of augmentation drops early on with my character, but later on I spent them, and then never found one for the longest time. Considering how weak this orb is, it certainly could use a bit more of a drop rate, transmutation (and scrolls) being the only ones that are fine.


I really don't like how orb items can drop in any lvl zone — it makes it easier for botting and other exploits to just farm at low level for 2 reasons:
1. It doesn't take much-to-any time to prepare a low level character for farming at low level
2. Killing monsters at low level is much faster and much easier than at higher levels


I don't know how to fix the following , but I think it would be beneficial if it was changed:
Some orbs can be found at lower levels (10,20,30, etc.) which is fine, but the problem is that using them on low level items is like wasting them compared to using them on high level items.

It would be messy and weird, but I was thinking that single orbs would be renamed/redesigned to be "pile of orbs". They would work in a way where finding one is really like finding 4. Alternatively, the drop rate could be increased by 4x, but aside from orb drops being everywhere (like gold), it would be a mechanical/logical flaw to have a "pile" of 1 orb. When you then use the pile of orbs on an item, it will use 1-4 charges (orbs), depending on the lvl of the item. That way people could use orbs on low level items without them loosing ALL the value, but just a portion of it.

Overall, I don't see any implementation working without it being a bit messy/complicated like my suggestion. Overall, I could understand that it's just too complicated to bother to implement in the game though.
