Because the area served no real purpose, it was only there as filler content - now that more chapters are available it's right to remove it.

Cartographer's Strongboxes can no longer mirror items.
Cartographer's Strongboxes have become less frequent as you progress up the map tiers. They have not been added to the new level 80+ maps.

It had its own Unique feel to it tho, so Imo I dont consider Coves as "filler content". Neither Do I consider a mob that has existed since closed beta to be filler content. If Coves are Filler content then you might aswell remove The Coast, Ledge, and the Climb aswell since they have no quests. I actually really enjoy/enjoyed the Coves. Sure Coves does not have a Unique mob, which kinda makes it make more sense that u would remove it but..... u might aswell just add a Unique mob to Coves instead... or do something to make coves more fun... maybe a random quest.... I Like most of the changes in this patch but I rly do not understand this "Streamlined Experience" Idea. Exploring areas nice and slow is fun imo... but I quess that everyone wants to race to lategame content.

Just because there are new areas now does not mean that the old areas suddenly become shitty/boring. Once you,ve played act 4 for a while you will get used to Act 4 content anyways, and then it is not "new" anymore. It is when we reach that point that I will miss an area like Coves/Dark Forrest. ) :

Coulda saved alot of typing by just typing

- Nerfed everything
- All monsters now auto kill you if your in range
- Rekted everything else
- Added act 4 after 2 years
Wow... This is AMAZING!

I've never read so many incredible changes in a big patch note description before now...

This game is gonna be so HUGE!

I literally fist-pumped a little bit when I read the Sweep changes.
I've died countless times to a sudden rare/magic devourer mob unburrow. Words cannot express how grateful I am for all the nerfs to them.


I must admit though, I'm pretty bummed about the flicker strike camera bugfix, that was actually pretty cool :P

I did not run low maps because I wanted, I ran low maps because I could not sustain high level maps and all maps I was able to sustain gave me 2% anyway... And now you nerf map drops and then say "This is to encourage players to run content appropriate for their high level."?? Seriously I´m pissed.

Maps from the old progression no longer drop. They can be played to find maps from the new progression.



Wait? What? So no more old maps? We get to rerun just 12 maps over and over the whole expansion?
