Started POE 2 month ago, respecced from arc to chaos/incinerate with a whopping 60+ regrets. And burnt all my currency some days ago in a +1 to socketed gems 5L corrupted Infernal Mantle.

And now, rip build & i'm broke :x

Ok lets try it this way.

right now sitting in town with a 4 link pa (21PA,culling strike,conc effect,4 empower) my pa does 14,109

ok so now i add in pierce now it does 16,092 - adds 1,983 damage

ok i remove pierce and add slower proj now it does 18,710 adds 4,601
thats
so the multipier gem adds 2,618 more damage than the additive gem.

Obviously this number will be lower with the nerfed gem but as of right now if i could use the 2 new multipier gems rather than the 2 additive gems my in town damage would go from 21,228 (6 linked) to 26,464.

thats a 24% increase in damage over the gems we still have now. and thats if those gems only increase by .5% like slower proj does they could increase by 1%. so if all we take into account is JUSt the gems were going to be looking at a 18% nerf.


Yep I completely agree with You, like I said on my very first post, with the new gems You prolly can get somewhat close to the old damage, but that requires a 6 link and u loose the pierce, i just didn't understand the part - when it seems like a nerf

More changes added:

  • Skills which detonate corpses (such as Detonate Dead, Abyssal Cry and Infernal Blow) have had their radius increased by 22%.
  • Righteous Fire's radius has been increased by 60%.
  • Storm Call's radius has been increased by 25%
  • Glacial Cascade's radius has been increased by 25%.
  • Ice Shot's radius has been increased by 9%.
  • Sweep's radius has been reduced by 8%.

Incinerate nerf is so much overkill. I don't know why game developers (in every game) always makes something that is overpowered to complete crap that noone will gonna use, ever. Disabling spell echo and decreasing the staging bonus to 75% would me more than enough to make it ok.

We need to keep in mind that Incinerate needs those stages to do huge damage. It's only noticeable during boss fights, trash mobs melts within half a second from other skills while Incinerate's going to need like 2-3 seconds to build max stages...

If the new gems increase by 1% per level rather than .5% it will indeed be a buff. If they increase by .75% per level they will do almost exactly the same damage as now
