The thing is: At no point will an additional stash tab have an impact on how much damage you do, what enemies you can take on, or how fast you can clear a map. (All of these could be a part of the definition of "power" - the power you need to "win")

it has, but in a very indirect way. The more stashtabs you have the better you are able to trade stuff and wait for customers for specific items. the more stash tabs you have, the easier it is to mass craft stuff to get the 1 out of 100+ roll thats actually usefull.
And the more currency you get/have the better items you can buy

for crafting alone you need tons of tabs for just the base items since poe is a game about chances and therefore big numbers. that also and especially applies to craftingsucces.
OFC you can play to endgame with just 4 tabs and juggle around with mules on same and mules on another acccount, its a time and qol factor at the end that favors those who have more tabs.
The time you need for muling of deciding if an item is worth to keep others are already farming xp again. so tabs are definitely an advantage that indirectly helps to advance.

Ok , I see your point here.
But seriously, man?

Now I assume that you are able to decide that what is useful and what is not in the case that you want to compare yourself with top players.

If you have ever looked at the ladder every each league, I think you may find out that the top players don't need that many tabs to be at top . Here we are talking about a lot top players ,not just the first one in case that you may think of something else that they have done to achieve that.
So the question is , how the hell they did that progression without massive trade and master crafting (yes, they trade and craft but I don't think they can fill their stashes with all the gears that are useful in a few days, in other words, they are not trading or crafting all day long to get more exp out from it)

Well , if you watched the top players streaming and think it through, you can find yourself manage well with a few tabs. ( With the bring-out of this subject, may I assume that "time is money" this concept is a major factor in your daily life? If that's the case, you may want to do some research or "just add some tabs in your opinion" in order to compete with other top players, either way, I think it's reasonable for you ,determined by what is more worth your time)

Otherwise ,I would say that just enjoy the free game and let alone the little profit they may get. It's also very welcome and appreciated when you can support the game if you love the game enough (in a timely manner).

Cheers.
Any word on whether or not the Essence Drain damage over time debuff will stack?
good patch, but really hope a bit more investiment on map drops, too frustrating to play t11/12 maps over 150 iiq 30 pack (chisels, alch, vaal, sac or mortal frags) and got 5 or 6 maps t10 or below(miss you darkshrines :( )

surgeon flask nerf but conserving the old ones don't make sense to me, but time to wait how this impact on standard.

So... 40% and each SEVEN? For RF not good news, for me as to get set - NICE!!!! :D It still will be not so easy to complete set, but - it's my new goal to get those 28 done.

Does this mean that 100% of the skill gem spell echo no longer works with the skill gem incinerate? Or just parts of it?

This would be very useful to know as i run one character, a tanky incinerator. ..... i need to think things over if spell echo will ignore my incinerate given my gem line up (see below).

Spell Echo / Life leech / Incinerate / Lesser Multiple Projectiles / Fire penetration / (at a 6 link, mana leech).

Any information would be great here. Thanks!

Hello!!!!

I am so hyped for LL chaos witch!!!! Can't wait to play in the new leagues either :3

May I ask why you haven't reworked the scion tree yet though? It still takes far too long to leave it if you start as a scion and an annoyingly long time to get around it if you're aiming for a few specific passives just pass it.
Would it be possible to combine the nodes so they give slightly LESS bonuses but take up fewer passives? (eg. instead of 3 life regen nodes at 0.3/0.4 per second you have 2 at 0.5 (or 0.4) per second. Or instead of 3 spell damage at 6% (which is rather low) it's 2 at 8% etc. Even the full wheels could stand to lose a passive or two each but have each separate passive give slightly more.

apart from that, I love the new changes and can't wait TO MAKE POISON WITCH!!!
Cool updates!!!

As being in the center of the tree, scion has the ability to work any build out.It means,if you want to try another totally different build , you can re-do the skill-tree with about 2 ex worth of regrets (it's totally worth it after you reach a certain level). And with the jewel sockets , you have more choices when starting as a scion. All these come in the exchange of one or two points, well it doesn't affect some builds at all and some have a better start with scion (the res nodes are really helpful sometimes).

If it goes from 3 to 2, where to put the jewel socket(well, maybe somewhere), but it will certainly make it the most popular choice to start most builds.

I am excited to make a lot builds too. :)

The only other alternative is gaining stash tabs through playing. Every character you get to maps you gain one, or something of the sorts?

Not hiding stash tabs behind payment walls has been suggested since the first beta.

GGG's response was (paraphrasing) "No" , "Make mules"

In this game, my currency can take 10 tabs on its own, maps another 3 tabs, skills another 3 tabs, gear another 10 tabs. Trying to mule ANY part of it would be masochistic.

Not saying that "other games do it better" necessarily, but that hiding a core aspect of the game behind a payment wall makes the game, ultimately, pay to win. I have no problem with games being pay to win in some form or another, but I loathe when developers insist their p2w creations are "not actually pay to win" , "look, I have 20 mules on which I keep my alts and flasks"

This patch is great otherwise, love the poison changes, too bad the pathing in the shadow-ranger-duelist area is still shit.
Arbitrary placeholder decisions should never be embraced as final.
