Path of Exile 2.2.0: Ascendancy Patch Notes

Rip Consuming dark, Vaal spark, and vinktar
The Critical Strike Support Gem now grants additional critical strike chance in addition to increased critical strike chance, but the value of increased critical strike chance has been reduced.

So uh, do we get double crit chance from it?

We hope you really enjoy Ascendancy. Thanks for your continued feedback and generous support!

sorry, how badly you manage the case of an underused because of underpowered skill, im constrained to refuse the later

Ascendancys bring a huge power creep for everything without a counterbalance, so just wait how the Ascendancys play out on underused skills. They can still adjust them in future patches, but it wouldn't make sense to do so now.

GGG, I found your wording in the patch notes about the changes to Crit Multiplier on items difficult to understand and I have been playing for years.

When I read this:

"
All sources of increased Critical Strike Multiplier have been changed to additional Critical Strike Multiplier. This change brings the functionality in line with how most players think it works. Because of this, all items, passives and some skills/support gems that used to have increased Critical Strike Multiplier are now 33% less effective on players

and then this...

"
The following were not updated to new values: Maligaro's Virtuosity, all craftable item mods (non-jewel) and master-crafted mods.

Am I correct when I say this means that all craftable non-jewel items, with a critical strike multiplier mod on them will grant 33% less critical strike multiplier effect than they do now, when Ascendancy is released?

This seems much more like a significant nerf than what you said was a change that...

"
brings the functionality in line with how most players think it works

Secondly, Divine Orbs for me drop once every month or two (and I play regularly). I have several jewels with crit multiplier on them. Why do I have to spend my currency to re-roll jewels because you guys wanted to make a wording change?

If this is, as you said a "wording change", I don't understand why you wouldn't have applied the same solution that you did to the passive tree to all items. If this a nerf, then why wouldn't you have been straight up with us, like you were about the nerf to the Vaal Spark gem?

Please clarify about Savage Hit: is every hit against a Chaos Inoculation character a Savage Hit? Or will CI never receive Savage Hits? Or will the calculation be applied to their ES instead of life?

Bladefall had a bug that caused its damage per volley reduction to apply too early, reducing the damage of the first four stages. This has been fixed, which has raised its damage. To compensate, Bladefall's damage has been reduced by 25% at all levels
So if i get this right,it did less damage that what you designed it to do due to a bug and when you fixed the bug you nerfed the skill cause it did the damage you designed it to do at the first place?

It will only work for life, so as a CI user you can only get it when you get killed :P

No ascendancy can give back its former "decent" state to Dom blow

i dont think any other skill in the game has ever suffered from a 55% less damage nerf.

the skill is 35%less damage, how are you supose to deal with that lol monsters already deal low damage compared to their life, you apply 35%less damage to this low attack damage and then, when you try to buff it with auras, you get 35%less on that too because it doesnt just apply to the base damage.

not to mention that Dom blow needs heavy investments to work minimaly. People always justified the OP state of CRIT by saying that it need heavy investment, but suddenly it doesnt apply when we talk about something thats not META
ZiggyD is the Labyrinth of streamers, some like it, some dont, but GGG will make sure to push it down ur throat to make you like it

It works like it says it does.

If you lose 20% of your life, it's a savage hit. Chaos Innoc has 1 life. Since you cannot lose .2 life, the only way for CI to take a savage hit is to die.

It is a nerf. Wording change allows them to make retroactive changes to existing items.

Before: When something says +50% crit multi, it actually means +50% * 1.5 = +75% crit multi and you will see that reflect on your character sheet.

After: When something says +50% crit multi, it means exactly as it should, +50% crit multi.

Savage hit will tag CI characters if that hit brings their HP from 1 to 0. On most cases, especially in HC, you don't do this.

There are skills that suffered a 90% less damage nerf.
